Thanks for that tip! I sort of expect that things have evolved on both the Typepad and Wordpress ends, so it's good to know that the basic bones still work.

Thank you! Saved me tons of time. I had to do one extra step:

All of our images were surrounded by links that would popup a full-size image. Once I download all of the images using DownThemAll, I ran a two-line bash script inside from inside that directory to download all of the "-popup" images and then rename them with the ".html" extension so they would be served properly by my new WP blog:
$ for img in *; do curl -O "http://yourdomain.com/.a/${img/\-[0-9][0-9][0-9][a-z][a-z]/-popup}"; done
$ for f in *-popup; do mv $f $f.html; done

Do this for each of the paths your images are under. For me they were all under "/.a/". You might have to play with the regex a little, depending on the sizes of your images.

Then, using the same Search-Regex plugin you mentioned, I also had to do search and replace for -popup" to -popup.html" to fix all image popups.

Thanks again!

For my cousin I followed your guide, he was blogging from back to 2006. For some images I wrote a custom php script cause the firefox plugin (DTA) was rewriting theire names for some reason which caused problems. Anyone can ask me for that under above website.
Big hassle but verry glad for the great help of this guide! Thanks heaps!

Ten minutes ago I was naively operating under the assumption that exporting my posts from Typepad couldn't possibly be *that* bad, so after reading this post I kind of want to cry. Thanks for all the information. It's very useful.
