How do you find good blog content? If you are like me, you troll the blogrolls of blogs you already enjoy reading. You might try blog search engines, but I find them hit or miss. Technorati probably does the best job of categorizing blogs, but there's just no guarantee what you read will be worth the paper it isn't written on. With tens of thousands of blogs coming on line nearly daily (and as many winking out of existence), finding high-quality, reliable, content is becoming more and more of a challenge.
That's where blog networks come in. They aren't just a group of loosely-connected blogs, open to any blogger, such as those in a web ring. A good network vets its members, which may be united by, for example, a theme, profession, or geographic region. In the case of the 9rules Network, what the members have in common is just plain good content. In the words of 9rules,
The 9rules Network is about building a community of high quality websites as well as a community of highly discerning readers. Content is king and looking good helps. We add sites that meet these rigorous standards and leave bribe money under our keyboards.
Many people hear the word "weblog" and go running to Google to find weblogs on their favorite topics, but weeding through the crap to find the cream is a daunting task. Fortunately there are hundreds of thousands of great websites and weblogs that provide quality content, and our goal is to connect hungry readers with passionate writers so that they can live in harmony.
9rules has had three rounds of submissions, totaling over 700 entries. I am flattered that bootstrap analysis has been chosen to be a member of the 9rules Network. My debut is listed here, and I encourage you to head over to 9rules and browse their stylish, useful interface to find other gems in the blogosphere. (*takes a bow*)
